iPad Released

So the new Apple iPad was announced two days ago. Personally, I don’t like it; essentially it is an over sized iPhone:
Apple iPad: Released 27th January 2010
Here is an extract of a Yahoo article:

The iPad has a 9.7-inch touch screen, is a half-inch thick, weighs 1.5 pounds and comes with 16, 32 or 64 gigabytes of flash memory storage. It comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity built in. Jobs said the device has a battery that lasts 10 hours and can sit for a month on standby without needing a charge.
The basic iPad models will cost $499, $599 and $699, depending on the storage size, when it comes out worldwide in March.
Apple will also sell a version with data plans from AT&T Inc. in the U.S.: $14.99 per month for 250 megabytes of data, or $29.99 for unlimited usage. Neither will require a long-term service contract.
Those 3G iPad models will cost more — $629, $729 and $829, depending on the amount of memory — and will be out in April. International cellular data details have not yet been announced.

Please keep an eye out for later news on the iPad and future program releases by me.

LockerZ Invites

You guys and girls must have heard about LockerZ sometime in the past few weeks. It’s one of these free prize giving websites with a difference, it’s not a scam. You earn points by answering a daily question which takes literally ten seconds. Once you have enough points you can recieve prizes such as;

  • The New iPod Touch 64GB
  • An iPhone Skin
  • or even A LCD widescreen television

The one thing which is a tad annoying is that you need an invite to join, this is why I set up a section of my website which you can request a LockerZ invite. Just enter your email address and I’ll send you an invite.

Enjoy :)

Windows 7 Released!

After the long wait Windows 7 has finally been released!
With it’s upgraded performance and increased usability to the IT Illiterate, can Microsoft redeem itself from it’s Vista blunder?
Powerful features such as it’s touch functionality and command prompt’s predecessor, Windows PowerShell, offer an increased look into the future of the IT world.

As most of us know, Windows Vista was just modified code of XP. Although Windows 7 still has an air of the Vista look about it, Microsoft completely re-wrote this operating system. With this they managed to offer us increased speed. When we tested it, we could turn a virtually unusable notebook running Windows Vista to a rather fast, reliable work-horse.

The main drawback I have seen while using Windows 7 is the suprisingly poor performance of Internet Explorer 8. I know that the majority of us don’t even think twice about using other browsers rather than IE8, but since I had just installed a completely new OS I thought I’d give it a go, at first it gave a decent performance, but even now when I only have six tabs open, which is pretty modest in the world of tabs, it is still stalling and trying to think.

I love Windows 7, it’s overall much better than Vista. But after all my quabbles with IE, I’d have to give it an 8/10 Good try Microsoft fix the browser and you may be worthy of a nine.

Feel free to post about your experiences with Windows 7!

SendMail 1.2

I’ve decided not to release the previous version of SendMail (1.1) because it had several bugs which could not be overcome. This version has a couple of bug fixes of bugs present in 1.0, to install this version of SendMail you must uninstall SendMail 1.0 from the control panel.

So I can track the total downloads, this release is downloadable by Torrent only.

Apple denies ‘exploding’ iPhones

A number of iPhones that reportedly “exploded” in France were not due to the battery overheating as had been suggested, Apple has said.

The firm said that all of the handsets they had seen with broken screens were caused by an “external force”.

Watchdogs had launched investigations after reports of iPhones that had exploded or cracked spontaneously.

France’s top trade official is meeting with the financial director of Apple France to discuss the claims.
